Management referrals and sickness absence management

An Occupational Health service is there to help you manage employees when there may be any attendance and performance issues at work as a result of a health issue. The process for seeking advice is to undertake a Management Referral. Our approach is to provide Management with definitive advice following a detailed and objective assessment to facilitate and enable a suitable course of action to be taken and to aid the managers’ decision-making process.

We provide specialist, impartial advice to help you understand the underlying health reasons behind your employees’ sickness absence or performance issues, and the practical steps you can take to help them return to work and full productivity as quickly and safely as possible.

Incapability and ill health retirement reports

If it is clear that an individual’s capability to return to work will remain compromised and no other alternative options within the workplace exist, a definitive employment decision may need to be considered.

Experienced in advising on both private and public service pension schemes, our Occupational Health Physicians are experts in conducting pension reviews and independent assessments for both active and deferred applicants. Providing clear, robust, evidence-based recommendations and unbiased opinions, they support your trustees to make swift, informed decisions, helping to streamline the process for all parties.

New starter health screening

We carry out robust new starter health checks. Our clinical team provides advice in relation to the candidates’ fitness for the proposed role, their ability to provide reliable attendance and performance, whether they have any conditions which would fall within the remit of disability legislation and what adjustments may be needed.

Occupational Health Advice Line

Telephone and email support from a consultant occupational health physician is available for your Human Resource Department to discuss general occupational health issues in the business and general health and safety issues related to the health of employees.

  • Specialist assessments (such as psychiatric, orthopaedic etc.)

COVID-19 support

Testing
We can currently offer private coronavirus PCR swab testing and antibody testing carried out by our partner laboratory.

COVID-19 Risk Assessments
Rapid occupational health assessments to guide the employer and the employee regarding their risk status with respect to Covid-19.

Return to work strategies
Our specialist team provide return to work advice and support for employees who have been shielding or unwell due to COVID-19 infection.

We can work with you to tailor an event around your budget, needs and hotspots.

Health surveillance and vaccinations

With our broad, cross-industry experience and clinical specialists on hand to offer expert guidance, we’ll help you to minimise risks in your workplace and ensure your business remains compliant with the latest health and safety legislation, so you can be confident that your employees will stay protected, safe and well.
